Hello!

Sorry for the post in English.

What are your experiences with buying weed from Duch coffee shops? Is the weed "clean" or is it laced? Have you encountered weed laced with synthetic canabinoids (Spice, K2, etc.)?

@zaawxi Never encountered or heard of something like that. You will very likely buy good, clean weed and definitely without synthetic cannabinoids. You will find reliable quality especially if you go to more trusted coffeeshops.

It might be hard to track down whether pesticides have been used by growers though. But my knowledge on this is limited.

It's unlikely to buy laced weed in the Netherlands I think. Coffeeshops will for certain not sell that.

There were some reports few years back of laced weed being sold in coffeeshops (1).
But this was likely a mistake and given that there hasn’t been any more updates I guess they haven’t found any more laced weed in NL shops.

It’s always good to keep your eyes peeled for laced weed tho because there is likely a huge lack of quality control due to the current cannabis law making it impossible to do quality checks.

There is plenty of laced weed going around with normal streat dealers. At least in the region where I'm living.

From Dutch coffeeshops, could be. The more sketchy shops, sometimes I got weed I didn't really trust.
But the trusted shops, which I cannot name here, I've always had nice clean weed.

Weed laced with synthetic cannabinoid might happen in extremely rare occasions. I've never heard of it in my social circles.

Normally the weed here was laced with stuff like ammonia, hairspray or other dumb stuff. Mostly gives terrible headaches. Also had stuff that was laced that made me extremely stoned, but terrible after effects.

And one time I found weed in a local dump in the forest. I don't know what that was laced with, but I was stoned the whole day, unable to do anything. It wasn't funny anymore 😂
I literally couldn't get up for 8 hours straight. Not even to get drinks.

Since I saw that documentary about synthetic THC, my confidence has decreased a bit and if the weed now tastes or feels a bit strange, the thought of synthetic THC comes to mind. Unfortunately, I can imagine that there are shops that sell laced weed. That is why I only shop in well-known shops with good reviews and I am generally very confident that I am buying good stuff.

But, even with quite a few good reviews, a shop sometimes disappoints. For example, I recently bought four strains and three of them (silver haze, amnesia & jack herer) were all equally nasty in taste and effect. I vape weed and really like the taste of it, but these buds were so gross it made me feel sick. The fourth kind was their 'own weed' and even though it still tasted a bit ok, I had so little confidence that I just threw everything away. First and last time for this shop. I still remember being happily high that night and thinking of giving that newly bought Amnesia a try. I immediately regretted that because I went to bed with a headache. Really to get sick of.

Unfortunately I don't know what synthetic tastes like and therefore I don't know if and with what these buds were laced, or were they just poorly grown or not cured (properly), or a combination of all of that; I have no idea... but in over twenty years of almost daily-tasting weed I have never bought & experienced such bad stuff.

In my early years of weed I noticed some grinding between my teeth and then you know there's sand in there to weigh down the buds, but even that tasted better. By the way, I have only been able to buy that sand in one shop in all those years. So all in all I am very happy with my purchases & the Dutch shops.
